We took ourselves down to the first Nandos GigNic in Haggerston Park while the sun was still out this Saturday to paint some human size chickens.
Four of our artists painted at the event, decorating the famous Nando’s chicken in their own unique styles before they were displayed around the park. Sichi, inspired by tableclothes, exhibited a gingham pattern, Stina went for chillies, Kayleigh Doughty was influenced by the days music while Tony Riff created a bright and intricately patterned chicken.
This June sees a month of GigNics-‘gig meets picinic’-thanks to Nandos with the London event kicking things off. Hosted by Jameela Jamil the day saw the likes of Ed Sheeran and Rizzle Kicks performing to an audience treated with free chicken burgers and wings.
Saturday 16th sees GigNics arriving in Leeds followed by it’s final stop Glasgow on 23rd so be sure to stop by if you’re in the area. Thanks to Nandos and Pretty Green for inviting us along.
